There is a key understanding that is required in order to achieve success, and that is to believe that you can. This may sound like an obvious statement, but I find so often that people do not truly feel they are capable of hitting their targets.
Let us begin with the understanding of the term "success". What it really stands for. Success means many marvelous, positive things to different people. Success means personal prosperity: a fine home, vacations, travel, new things, financial security, giving your children maximum advantages, etc.
Success means winning admiration, leadership, being looked up to by people in your business and social life. Success means freedom: freedom from worries, fears, frustrations, and failure. Success means self-respect, continually finding more real happiness and satisfaction from life, being able to do more for those who depend on you. Success means winning! Success-achievement is the goal of life! Every human being wants solid success. Everybody wants the best this life can deliver. Nobody enjoys living in mediocrity. No one likes feeling second-class and feeling forced to go that way. Some of the most practical success-building wisdom is found in that sacred quotation stating that faith can move mountains. If you truly understand that success is obtainable, it will become so. It is a self-fulfilling prophecy.
One of the most important things you need to be successful is to believe in your ability, belief in yourself. It’s easier said than done, I know. The thing you have to remember though is that confidence is one of the most decisive factors that separates those who succeed from those who don’t. Even if you are highly talented, a lack of belief in yourself and your abilities will make it much more difficult for you to succeed.
Yes, it is your thinking that can either really help or hurt you. Imagine having a difficult task or problem to solve, how much easier do you think it is when you are positive and think that you can do it, (whatever it may be)? And how difficult do you think it will be if you lack confidence?
Believe, really believe, that you can move a mountain and you can! Not many people believe that they can move mountains. So, as a result, not many people do. On some occasion, you've probably heard someone say something like, “it's nonsense to think you can make a mountain, move away".‟ It's simply impossible". People who think this way have belief confused with wishful thinking.
If you don’t believe in yourself, in your abilities, if you let the first person who doesn’t like your work bring you down and give up on your dream, you may just lose your spark and settle for much less than you deserve. If you can somehow muster up the courage and strength to persist, to chase your dreams and to keep believing in yourself though, the outcome could be an entirely different world. You can win success by believing you can succeed. Belief works this way!
There is nothing neither magical nor mystical about the power of belief. Belief triggers the power to do. Belief in great results is the driving force, the power behind all great books, plays, scientific discoveries. Belief in success is behind every successful business, church, and political organization.
Belief in success is the one basic, absolutely essential ingredient in successful people. Believe, really believe, you can succeed and you will !
