Frustration and Depression is at All Time High

Frustration and Depression is at All Time High. How to Overcome from Frustration and Anger and Inspire and Motivate Your Team

As the Covid situation worsens, there is the frustration of being confined to one's home with limited human interaction which is also depressing. Employees are not able to interact with their colleagues, there are no longer the coffee break talks and the team outings which contributed to a happy and social workplace. Along with that the pressure of work from home where employees now have to draw a line by themselves between their personal and professional lives. It is difficult to multitask as the line between work and life becomes blurred in this situation. All these contribute to increasing frustration and decreasing mental health in employees.

When we look at overcoming this and being able to #Inspire and #Motivate the team, the manager should be able to keep their personal frustration at bay while interacting with their subordinates. It would be a good method to make available therapy or #Mental Health helpline ready for the employees whenever needed. This would show the employees that the organization cares for the well-being of its employees. Create a #Positive Work Environment for the employees. This is required because the last thing an employee wants in such a situation is a more stringent and autocratic workplace. Such a change would create a better emotionally healthy employee who will be more motivated to contribute to the organization. Conduct #Informal Meetings to promote healthy conversations about the negative situation and the frustrations the employees are facing. The realization that everyone around them is going through the same situation will ease the frustration experienced by them.

When we look at the manager’s perspective, the manager must be able to access the same provisions given by the organization to make sure they also get to talk about the hardships of leading a team in such a scenario. When anger kicks in #Breathe, it may seem very minimal but very effective. Deep breaths would help calm your system and help you think better and deal with situations in a better manner.

Another method is #Contemplating how your favorite leader would deal with the situation. Such a scenario building would help in determining an objective and the best way to handle an issue. There would be thinking involved and the instincts that one has when angry is not heeded to. Thus leading to better decisions.
