The Emotional Charity & Inheritance Trap

⚠️ Scam ALERT: The Emotional Charity & Inheritance Trap ⚠️

A new emotional Scam is circulating online, and it’s targeting kind-hearted people using faith, illness, and charity as tools of manipulation.

The story goes like this:

You receive a message from a woman—like Mrs. Doris Hussian—claiming to be terminally ill with cancer. She says she’s been deceived in the past and has prayed for a trustworthy person to help her. She tells you that her late husband left behind $2.5 million, which she wants to donate to the poor through you, because she “trusts you.”

The message includes Bible verses and emotional phrases like:

“Life has become a burden for me...”
“I prayed and God led me to you…”
“I need you to contact my husband's lawyer to process the funds…”

You're then asked to contact a so-called lawyer (e.g., Desmond Obih Williams from "Obih Law Chambers") who will supposedly help transfer the funds to your account—but eventually, they will demand money, personal documents, or banking details under the guise of “legal fees,” “transfer charges,” or “security clearance.”

📌 Important to note:

  • These Scammers even attach fake documents like cheques or bank receipts to seem real.

  • It’s all fabricated. There is no real money, no real lawyer—just a plan to Scam you.

🚨 How to Protect Yourself:

  • Never trust unsolicited messages offering large sums of money.

  • Emotional manipulation using religion or charity is a common red flag.

  • Report such messages immediately and warn others.

"Do not neglect to do good..." – Hebrews 13:16
Let’s truly do good—by stopping Scammers and protecting the vulnerable.
