In a high-intensity surprise operation resembling the style of the Income Tax Department, Enforcement Directorate (ED), and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), a team from Bhopal conducted raids at several well-known private hospitals in Indore yesterday. The operation was launched to verify records related to the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, which provides free medical treatment to eligible patients.

A 26-member team carried out the verification drive from 9 AM to 8 PM, scrutinizing hospital records of online claims filed for reimbursement under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. The verification process included checking if the expenses incurred during the treatment of patients matched the claims submitted and whether the hospitals were following the terms and conditions laid out in the government contract.

To conduct the sudden verification, some officers from the Bhopal team had arrived in Indore a day earlier, while others reached early in the morning on the day of the operation. The team from Bhopal included 12 officers, joined by 14 officials from the local Ayushman Bharat nodal office in Indore. A total of 13 verification teams were formed, each consisting of two officers, with each team assigned to inspect around five private hospitals.

Dr. Yogesh Bharsat, the Chief Executive Officer of Ayushman Bharat, was also present in the city during the operation. He was attending a meeting with Collector Ashish Singh regarding the cashless treatment of accident victims under the scheme.
