Yes it is true that love can have both the aspects it may destroy you or make you successful in your life.
Actually, everything that exists in this world have two aspects in themselves i.e it's strength and weakness or we can say pros and cons.

Like here also love can act as both your strength and weakness too. Nowadays love is misinterpreted by meaning, the attraction between two opposite sex. But it's not true love exist between father and daughter, mother and son , brother and sister etc there are various forms of love.
But people take it in other sense. Just suppose if a girl wanted to become a pilot if her family doesn't love her or doesn't support her how can this be possible for her. Here her family support is love. Suppose a blind man wanted to cross a road, and a boy helped him to do so. Here boy's help to that blind man is love.

With love man is everything but without it man is nothing. So it can destroy you too. It can be shown in recent interviews also that IAS topper without the love of her family and friends she would have been nothing.

There are a different reference of love in different cultures.
This little word "LOVE" is also evident in our holy religious books too. There are more than 106 verses on love in "Bible".
In Buddhism, karma is sensuous, love. The vast majority believe it to be an obstacle on the path to enlightenment, perceiving it as selfish.In Hinduism kāma is pleasurable, personified by the god Kama. For many Hindu schools, it is the third end in life.
(In contrast to kāma, Prema or prem refers to elevated love.)In Sikhism Love means love for the Lord and His creation.
In the Sahih Muslim Hadith, the Prophet Muhammad is reported to have said: “You will not enter paradise until you believe, and you will not believe until you love one another.”
# NEITHER BE CREATED NOR BE DESTROYED
It's like third law of motion. Love is not a thing or matter which can be described, it's just a feeling which can be expressed only.
Hence it is truly said that it can make you or destroy you.......
